General Service Office of Alcoholics Anonymous issued a notice regarding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) and in it suggests local meeting alternatives as well as some good practices from shared experience on how to address this issue.
As you know, many meetings are temporarily closed and contingency plans may need to be considered including:
- Creating contact lists and keeping in touch by phone, email or social media, meeting by phone or online.
- Try an online resource:
- Online AA meetings – A.A. Online Intergroup | Cleveland Ohio Online AA Meeting Directory
- Speaker Tape websites – AA Speaker, Harbor Area Central Office, Recovery Audio
- Speaker Tape app – Google Play | iTunes
- Big Book / 12 Step Ultimate Companion app – Google Play | iTunes
- Joe and Charlie app – Google Play | iTunes
- If a group isn’t holding its regular meetings, they may want to communicate this to local A.A. resources, such as the district, area and intergroup or central office.
